Welcome to Stitch Your Creativity!

Thank you for coming to my little corner of the internet where I share the cool fun creative events and activities I get into while living in New York City and traveling around the globe. This is an extension of my creative coaching business, Stitch Your Creativity, where I hope to encourage and foster you all to weave creativity into your daily lives, because I truly believe, The Creator created us to be creative.

I’ve attempted to write this welcome post more times than I can count. I have several iterations of the post saved onto my computer but none of them felt right. They either weren’t focused enough, spoke about past and not the future, or too much of the future and not enough about the past. Each try felt disjointed and forced until I finally threw my hands up and said “Nope-not doing it!” and then proceeded to walk away from the computer in a dramatic tantrum. Well not really because it’s a laptop and I was working in the library. I can’t have someone stealing my computer!

Once I calmed down, I forced myself to sit in the discomfort until I had enough courage to ask, “What is the real barrier here?” “What is the ‘block’ you seem to be facing, Lisa?” (Yes, sometimes I talk to myself in third person. And by sometimes, I mean all the time. Ha!) It wasn’t lack of vision or the even lack of words for my blog posts. No, it was much more mundane and basic. It was simply doubt.

Doubt that no one would be interested in reading about me living and experiencing one of the greatest cities in the world. Doubt that no one will want to receive coaching from me. Doubt that I won’t be taken seriously and will get trolled and teased. Ultimately, I was drowning in my self-doubts.

Then the light bulb turned on. As simply as doubt came to me, so did the clarity-this was my WHY.

  • I have first-hand experience of not getting “the dream job” even though I poured myself into the work and made sacrifices with the hope that one day it would all pay off.

  • My bank accounts have been a financial rollercoaster ride that competes with Disney for most thrilling, jaw dropping, stomach turning ride known to man.

  • I’ve lived what was supposed to be a dream only to recognize it no longer suited the person I was when I received it.

  • I’ve had to mend my heart more times than I can count after subjecting it to modern day dating all in the hopes to find my person. Instead, I’ve learned to make peace with my singleness.

  • I know what it means to have to “wait”, because the circumstances were out of my control. Wanting to move on from the situation but being forced to face the past until it was resolved.

  • In the darkest of nights, I’ve asked myself the age ole question, “Am I good enough?”

The easy answer is, “Yes. I am good enough.” But saying it and believing it are two different things. Saying it doesn’t mean we BELIEVE it. Do we honestly think we are worthy enough to live a life that brings us love, joy, peace, harmony, abundance, and courage? Do we honestly believe that we are good enough to be protected and provided for when we step into the unknown without fear? This is what my goals are for my business and for working with my clients.

I want to provide creative clients with a safe space to verbally state what their heart desires and work with them by providing practical tools that focus on self-exploration, creative outlets, and realistic goals so they BELIEVE that they are worthy of a life of their own creation. A universal truth that I too am learning to embrace because once again, The Creator created us to be creative.

In conjunction of the blog and coaching, I also desire to create a creative community that speaks LIFE into each other. We have become so divisive with one another, which is Negative Nancy’s goal. And let’s be real, it’s not Nancy, it’s the enemy. When we find ourselves discontent, disgruntled, disengaged, disassociated, to name a few, we are allowing the enemy to dictate our lives and the interactions we have with others. Instead of fighting with each other let’s fight the enemy together by creating lives that are filled with that love, joy, peace, harmony, abundance, and courage we are so worthy of!

We can do that together by leaning into our creativity and learning what The Creator really wants for our lives. I hope you will join me on this new adventure as I embody the simplest universal truth to be told, The Creator created us to be creative.

love and light,

Lisa Marie
